Equipment

  • Champagne flutes
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries hulled and quartered
  • 4-6 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 bottle chilled champagne or prosecco
  • Ice cubes

Fresh ingredients are key. Pick ripe strawberries for the best flavor. Use a dry champagne or prosecco to balance the sweetness of the fruit.

Instructions

  • Combine strawberries, thyme leaves, sugar, and water in a cocktail shaker.
  • Muddle the mixture until strawberries are crushed and release their juices.
  • Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
  • Strain the mixture into champagne flutes, filling them about 1/3 full.
  • Top off each glass with chilled champagne or prosecco.
  • Garnish with a fresh strawberry slice and a sprig of thyme.

Serve right away to enjoy the bubbles and fresh flavors at their best.

    Notes

Make the strawberry-thyme mixture ahead of time and chill it for easier serving.
For a non-alcoholic version, use sparkling water instead of champagne.
Adjust the sugar to taste, depending on the sweetness of your strawberries.
Try different herbs like basil or mint for unique flavor combinations.
This recipe serves 4-6 people. Double or halve the amounts as needed for your group size.
