Ingredients

  • 6 fresh strawberries hulled and quartered
  • 4-5 fresh basil leaves
  • 6-8 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 oz white rum
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 oz simple syrup
  • Club soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Strawberry and basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • Place strawberries, basil leaves, and mint leaves in the cocktail shaker.
  • Muddle the ingredients gently to release their flavors and oils.
  • Add white rum, lime juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.
  • Strain the mixture into a Collins glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Top with club soda and stir gently with a bar spoon.
  • Garnish with a fresh strawberry and basil leaf.

Notes

Store fresh strawberries in the fridge and use within 2-3 days for the best flavor.
Make simple syrup by mixing equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan. Heat until sugar dissolves, then cool before using.
