1bottle750ml dry white wine (Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
1/4cupbrandy
2tablespoonshoney or agave nectar
1green applecored and thinly sliced
1pearcored and diced
1lemonthinly sliced
1limethinly sliced
1/2cupgreen grapeshalved
1cupsparkling wateroptional
Ice cubes for serving
Fresh mint sprigs for garnish
Pick a crispdry white wine that isn't too expensive.
Instructions
Slice all fruit and add to the pitcher.
Pour brandy over the fruit and add honey or agave nectar.
Stir gently to combine and help dissolve the sweetener.
Add the entire bottle of white wine to the pitcher.
Stir again to mix all ingredients thoroughly.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably 4-6 hours, to let the flavors blend.
Just before serving, add ice cubes and optional sparkling water for fizz.
Stir once more and serve in wine glasses.
Garnish each glass with a sprig of fresh mint.
Notes
You can prepare this sangria up to 24 hours in advance. The longer it sits, the more the fruit flavors infuse into the wine.For stronger fruit flavor, gently press some of the fruit with a wooden spoon before serving.For a less alcoholic version, reduce the brandy to 2 tablespoons and add more sparkling water.You can substitute other fruits based on what's in season. Peaches and nectarines work well in summer.Store leftover sangria in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. The fruit may soften too much after the first day.
