Add berries and simple syrup to the cocktail shaker. Muddle until berries release their juices.
Pour in the rum and lime juice. Fill the shaker with ice.
Shake for 10-15 seconds until well chilled.
Strain into a Collins glass filled with ice. Top with club soda.
