  • Hawthorne strainer
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Jigger or measuring tool
  • Muddler
  • Collins glass
  • Ice cube tray
  • Sharp knife and cutting board

Ingredients

  • 2 oz London dry gin
  • 1 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary 1 for muddling, 1 for garnish
  • 2-3 oz club soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Grapefruit wedge for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill a Collins glass with ice and set aside.
  • Place one rosemary sprig in the cocktail shaker and muddle gently to release oils.
  • Add gin, fresh grapefruit juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
  • Fill shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.
  • Double strain into the prepared Collins glass through both strainers.
  • Top with club soda and stir gently.
  • Garnish with remaining rosemary sprig and grapefruit wedge.

Notes

Store-bought grapefruit juice can be used, but fresh-squeezed provides the best flavor.
The cocktail can be made sweeter by adding more simple syrup, or less sweet by reducing it.
For a stronger rosemary flavor, infuse the gin with rosemary for 24 hours before using.
The drink should be served immediately while bubbles are fresh and ice is cold.
