Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler or wooden spoon
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Tall glass
  • Ice
  • Measuring jigger or shot glass

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 4 oz lemonade
  • 1/4 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slice and extra raspberries for garnish

Use good quality vodka for the best taste. Fresh lemonade is ideal, but store-bought works too. Pick ripe, juicy raspberries for the most flavor. Regular white sugar is fine, or try simple syrup for easier mixing.

Instructions

  • Put raspberries and sugar in the shaker. Muddle until berries are crushed.
  • Add vodka, lemonade, and ice to the shaker. Close tightly and shake for 15-20 seconds.
  • Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
  • Strain the mixture into the glass.
  • Garnish with a lemon slice and a few fresh raspberries.
  • Stir gently and serve right away.

For a smoother drink, double strain through a fine-mesh strainer to remove all seeds.

    Notes

This recipe makes one cocktail. To serve a crowd, multiply the ingredients by the number of drinks needed. Mix in a pitcher instead of a shaker.
For a non-alcoholic version, skip the vodka and add more lemonade. Or try replacing vodka with sparkling water for a bubbly twist.
Frozen raspberries can be used if fresh aren't available. They may make the drink a bit thicker.
The cocktail is best enjoyed fresh. If making ahead, mix everything except ice and store in the fridge. Add ice just before serving.
