  • Measuring jigger
  • Mixing spoon
  • Strainer
  • Serving glass
  • Small bowl

Ingredients

  • 4 oz chilled eggnog
  • 1.5 oz rum or bourbon
  • 0.5 oz peppermint schnapps
  • 2 drop peppermint extract optional
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract
  • crushed candy canes for rim or topping
  • whipped cream for topping
  • ground nutmeg or cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  • Chill serving glass. Rim with crushed candy cane if desired.
  • Add eggnog, rum or bourbon, peppermint schnapps, vanilla, and peppermint extract to shaker with ice.
  • Shake 10–15 seconds until well mixed and cold. Strain into chilled glass.
  • Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon. Serve immediately.

Notes

Store-bought eggnog is great, but homemade is even better. Adjust peppermint to taste. Omit alcohol for a non-alcoholic version. Top with fresh whipped cream for a festive finish.
