Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Strainer
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Martini glass
  • Muddler
  • Ice

Ingredients

Here's what you'll need to make one Pear Thyme Martini:

  • 2 oz pear vodka
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 0.75 oz simple syrup
  • 3-4 sprigs of fresh thyme
  • Ice
  • Pear slice for garnish

For the simple syrup, mix equal parts sugar and water in a small pot. Heat until the sugar dissolves, then let it cool before using.

Instructions

Follow these steps to make your Pear Thyme Martini:

  • Put 2-3 thyme sprigs in the shaker and muddle gently to release the oils.
  • Add the pear vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
  • Fill the shaker with ice.
  • Shake well for about 10-15 seconds.
  • Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.
  • Garnish with a pear slice and a sprig of fresh thyme.

Serve right away while the drink is cold and the flavors are at their peak.

    Notes

You can adjust the sweetness by changing the amount of simple syrup. For a stronger thyme flavor, let the thyme sit in the vodka for a few hours before making the cocktail.
If you can't find pear vodka, use regular vodka and add 1 oz of pear nectar. This will make the drink a bit sweeter, so you may want to use less simple syrup.
For a non-alcoholic version, replace the vodka with pear juice or nectar and add a splash of soda water for fizz.
