Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Strainer
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Muddler
  • Tall glass
  • Ice

Ingredients

For one Pear Hibiscus Fizz cocktail, gather:

  • 2 oz pear vodka or pear-flavored liqueur
  • 1 oz hibiscus syrup
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 2-3 slices of fresh pear
  • Club soda
  • Ice
  • Pear slice and hibiscus flower for garnish optional

The pear vodka gives the drink its main flavor. Hibiscus syrup adds a tart, floral note. Fresh lemon juice balances the sweetness. Club soda gives the fizzy effect.

Instructions

  • Put pear slices in the shaker and muddle gently.
  • Add pear vodka, hibiscus syrup, lemon juice, and ice to the shaker.
  • Shake well for 10-15 seconds.
  • Fill a tall glass with ice.
  • Strain the mixture into the glass.
  • Top with club soda.
  • Stir gently to mix.
  • Garnish with a pear slice and hibiscus flower if desired.

Serve right away while the drink is cold and fizzy.

    Notes

This recipe can be adjusted to taste. For a stronger pear flavor, use more pear slices or pear vodka. To make it less sweet, reduce the hibiscus syrup.
For a non-alcoholic version, replace pear vodka with pear juice or nectar. Add a splash of non-alcoholic bitters for depth.
Fresh hibiscus syrup can be made at home by steeping dried hibiscus flowers in hot simple syrup. Let it cool before using.
The drink is best served cold. Chill glasses in the freezer for extra frostiness.
