  • Jigger or small measuring cup
  • Citrus juicer
  • Bar spoon
  • Fine strainer
  • Rocks glass or highball glass
  • Small plate
  • Ice cubes

Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila blanco
  • 2 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz agave nectar or agave syrup adjust to taste
  • 2 oz club soda or sparkling water
  • kosher salt for rim, optional
  • ice cubes
  • grapefruit wedge or lime wheel for garnish

Instructions

  • Rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and dip it in kosher salt if desired.
  • Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  • In a shaker, combine tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and agave nectar.
  • Shake for about 10 seconds until cold.
  • Strain into your prepared glass.
  • Top with club soda or sparkling water and stir gently.
  • Garnish with a grapefruit wedge or lime wheel.

Notes

Adjust sweetness by changing the amount of agave nectar. Fresh juice is best. For a cleaner finish, use sparkling water instead of club soda. A salted rim brings out the citrus and balances the tequila.
