  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Cocktail spoon or long spoon
  • Citrus juicer
  • Grater or microplane
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 3 oz ginger beer
  • 1 oz fresh orange juice fresh squeezed preferred
  • 0.5 oz lime juice fresh
  • ice cubes
  • 1 orange slice for garnish
  • fresh mint sprig for garnish
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg freshly grated preferred
  • extra orange slices optional, for more orange flavor

Instructions

  • Fill your copper mug about halfway with ice cubes.
  • Pour in vodka, orange juice, and lime juice.
  • Top with ginger beer.
  • Stir gently with your cocktail spoon to bring it all together.
  • Garnish with an orange slice and a sprig of fresh mint.
  • Grate a bit of nutmeg right on top—it makes all the difference.
  • Want more orange flavor? Toss in a couple extra orange slices.
  • Serve right away while it’s still cold and fizzy.

Notes

Fresh orange juice tastes brightest, but bottled works in a pinch. Pick a ginger beer with a spice level you like. Freshly grated nutmeg adds warmth. Mint wakes up the aroma—try slapping the leaves before garnishing. Serve ice cold for max refreshment.
