Equipment

  • Large pitcher
  • Wooden spoon
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Melon baller (optional)
  • Wine glasses

Ingredients

For 6-8 servings:

  • 1 bottle 750 ml Prosecco, chilled
  • 1 cup vodka
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup
  • 1 honeydew melon cut into balls or cubes
  • 1 cantaloupe cut into balls or cubes
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves
  • Ice cubes
  • Extra melon balls and mint sprigs for garnish

The Prosecco adds bubbles and light flavor. Vodka gives the drink an extra kick. Meanwhile, simple syrup sweetens it. Fresh melons and mint create the signature taste.

Instructions

  • In a large pitcher, combine the Prosecco, vodka, and simple syrup. Stir gently.
  • Add the melon balls or cubes to the pitcher.
  • Next, gently muddle the mint leaves to release their oils. Then, add them to the pitcher.
  • Stir the mixture carefully to combine all ingredients.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld.
  • To serve, fill glasses with ice. Then, pour the sangria over the ice.
  • Garnish each glass with extra melon balls and a sprig of fresh mint.

Stir gently before serving to make sure fruit is evenly distributed.

    Notes

This sangria is best made a few hours ahead of time. This allows the flavors to blend well.
Don't add ice to the pitcher, as it will water down the drink. Instead, add ice to individual glasses when serving.
For a non-alcoholic version, replace the Prosecco with sparkling water or lemon-lime soda. Skip the vodka.
You can swap out the melons for other fruits like strawberries or peaches. Just make sure to use ripe, sweet fruit for the best flavor.
