Equipment

  • Champagne flutes
  • Measuring jigger or shot glass
  • Champagne stopper (optional)
  • Small spoon for stirring

Ingredients

For one Mimosa Royale cocktail:

  • 3 oz chilled Champagne or sparkling wine
  • 2 oz fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 oz orange liqueur like Cointreau or Grand Marnier
  • Orange slice or twist for garnish optional

Use good quality ingredients for the best taste. Fresh-squeezed orange juice is ideal, but store-bought works too. Pick a dry Champagne or sparkling wine you enjoy drinking on its own.

Instructions

  • Chill the Champagne flute in the freezer for 5-10 minutes.
  • Pour the orange liqueur into the chilled flute.
  • Add the fresh orange juice.
  • Slowly pour in the Champagne or sparkling wine.
  • Gently stir with a small spoon to mix.
  • Garnish with an orange slice or twist if desired.

Serve right away while the drink is cold and bubbly.

    Notes

Mimosa Royale is best enjoyed fresh. Don't make it ahead of time or the bubbles will go flat.
You can adjust the ratios to your taste. Some people prefer more Champagne, others like more juice.
For a non-alcoholic version, use sparkling water instead of Champagne and skip the orange liqueur.
Be careful when opening the Champagne. Point the bottle away from people and things that could break.
