Equipment

  • Large pitcher (64 oz capacity)
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Wooden spoon
  • Wine glasses
  • Ice bucket
  • Melon baller (optional)

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle dry white wine 750ml
  • 1/2 honeydew melon cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cantaloupe melon cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 20 fresh mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 cup club soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Extra mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  • Cut both melons into 1-inch cubes or use a melon baller to create small spheres.
  • Add the melon pieces to the pitcher.
  • Pour the white wine over the melon.
  • Add honey and stir until mixed.
  • Tear mint leaves and add them to the pitcher.
  • Let the mixture chill in the refrigerator for 2-4 hours.
  • Just before serving, add club soda and stir gently.
  • Fill wine glasses with ice and pour the sangria.
  • Garnish each glass with fresh mint sprigs.

Notes

Store any leftover sangria in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
The melon pieces can be eaten after drinking - they become wine-soaked and extra tasty.
For a non-alcoholic version, replace the wine with white grape juice.
Choose ripe, sweet melons for the best flavor. The melons should feel heavy and have a sweet smell.
Pre-chill all ingredients to keep the drink cold longer.
