This refreshing twist on a Moscow Mule combines sweet mango with spicy ginger beer and a splash of lime juice. The drink takes just 5 minutes to make and serves one person.

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz fresh mango puree
  • ½ oz fresh lime juice
  • 4-5 oz ginger beer
  • Fresh mint leaves 2-3 for muddling, 1 sprig for garnish
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Mango slice for garnish
  • Fresh ginger slice for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Add mint leaves to a cocktail shaker and muddle gently to release oils.
  • Pour vodka, mango puree, and lime juice into the shaker.
  • Fill shaker with ice and shake for 10-15 seconds until well chilled.
  • Strain mixture into a copper mug or highball glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Top with ginger beer and stir gently to combine.

Notes

The drink tastes best with fresh mango puree. To make it, blend ripe mango chunks until smooth.
Store-bought mango puree works in a pinch - just check that it contains no added sugar.
For extra ginger flavor, muddle a small piece of fresh ginger with the mint leaves.
Keep ginger beer chilled for the best fizz. Once opened, it stays bubbly for 2-3 days in the fridge.
Make it non-alcoholic by skipping the vodka and adding extra ginger beer.
