Equipment

  • Champagne flutes or wine glasses
  • Measuring jigger (1 oz)
  • Bar spoon
  • Ice bucket
  • Citrus zester or peeler
  • Small knife for garnish

Ingredients

  • 1 oz limoncello liqueur chilled
  • 4 oz Prosecco chilled
  • 1 lemon twist for garnish
  • Ice for chilling glasses optional

Instructions

  • Pre-chill the champagne flutes for 10-15 minutes in the refrigerator or fill with ice water.
  • Pour 1 oz of cold limoncello into each glass.
  • Slowly add 4 oz of chilled Prosecco, pouring at an angle to preserve the bubbles.
  • Use a bar spoon to gently stir once or twice to combine.
  • Create a lemon twist by using a citrus zester or peeler to remove a strip of lemon peel.
  • Garnish each glass with the lemon twist and serve right away.

Notes

This cocktail works best with very cold ingredients. Store both the limoncello and Prosecco in the refrigerator before mixing.
The drink can be made sweeter by adding more limoncello or less sweet by adding more Prosecco.
For large parties, prepare the glasses and lemon twists ahead of time. Add the liquids just before serving to keep the bubbles fresh.
Store leftover limoncello in the freezer - it won't freeze solid due to its alcohol content.
