Equipment

  • A cocktail shaker or large jar with a lid
  • A muddler or wooden spoon
  • A fine mesh strainer
  • A jigger or measuring cup
  • Tall glasses for serving
  • Ice

Ingredients

For 2 servings, gather these ingredients:

  • 4 oz fresh lemon juice about 2-3 lemons
  • 2 oz lavender simple syrup
  • 8 oz sparkling water
  • 1/4 cup fresh lavender leaves
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and lavender sprigs for garnish

The lavender simple syrup can be bought or made at home by steeping lavender in sugar and water.

Instructions

Follow these steps to create your mocktail:

  • Add lavender leaves to the shaker and gently muddle.
  • Pour in lemon juice and lavender syrup.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake for 15 seconds.
  • Strain the mixture into ice-filled glasses.
  • Top with sparkling water and stir gently.
  • Garnish with lemon slices and lavender sprigs.

Serve right away to enjoy the fizzy, cool drink at its best.

    Notes

This recipe can be adjusted to taste. For a sweeter drink, add more lavender syrup. If you prefer it tart, use extra lemon juice.
Fresh lavender works best, but dried culinary lavender can be used as a substitute. Make sure to use food-grade lavender, as some varieties are not meant for eating.
The mocktail can be prepared in advance without the sparkling water. Add the sparkling water just before serving to keep it bubbly.
