I make this refreshing drink with fresh kiwi, mint leaves, and sparkling wine. With just a few simple tools and ingredients, you can whip up a cool, fruity cocktail that works for parties or quiet evenings.
A Kiwi Mint Spritz uses just a handful of fresh stuff and some basic mixers. Here’s what I use:
2ripe kiwispeeled and sliced
8-10fresh mint leaves
0.5ozfresh lime juice
1ozsimple syrup
3ozsparkling wineProsecco works well
1ozclub soda or sparkling water
Ice cubes
Instructions
First, toss the sliced kiwi and mint leaves in the bottom of your shaker or straight into the glass. Grab your muddler and press them together until the kiwi’s broken down and the mint smells super fragrant.
Add the lime juice, simple syrup, and a handful of ice. If you’re using a shaker, shake everything for about 10 seconds, then strain it into a tall glass filled with ice.
If you’re mixing in the glass, just give it a good stir. Next, slowly pour in the sparkling wine and club soda.
Give it all a gentle stir with a bar spoon to keep those bubbles lively. For garnish, I usually add a mint sprig or a slice of kiwi—looks nice, smells nice.
Notes
Chilled sparkling wine and soda work best, honestly. It keeps the drink cool and fizzy longer, which is kind of the whole point. If you want more mint flavor, just muddle those leaves a little extra. Sometimes I’ll swap lime juice for lemon if I’m craving something sharper.Clear ice cubes make the drink look cleaner, but regular ice is fine too. If it’s too sweet, add more soda or dial back the syrup.I always taste as I go and tweak the syrup or citrus until it’s just right. Fresh ingredients really do make the biggest difference in the final drink.
