I’m a big fan of drinks that play with fresh fruit and herbs, so I thought I’d share a recipe for a Kiwi Mint Spritz Cocktail. This one mixes juicy kiwi, cool mint, bubbly soda, and a splash of your favorite spirit for a light, refreshing cocktail.
It’s honestly pretty easy to throw together, and it works for warm afternoons or small gatherings—basically, whenever you want something a little special but not too fussy.
When I first tried this at home, I was surprised by how well the flavors played together. The natural sweetness from the kiwi blends with the mint for a fresh taste that’s not too strong.
I think you’ll find this spritz simple to make and genuinely enjoyable to drink. Let’s get into it.
Kiwi Mint Spritz Cocktail Recipe
Equipment
- Muddler Mash kiwi and mint together
- Shaker (optional) Mix ingredients
- Fine Mesh Strainer Remove solids from juice
- Jigger Measure liquids accurately
- Tall Glass Serve the drink
- Bar Spoon Stir the spritz
Ingredients
A Kiwi Mint Spritz uses just a handful of fresh stuff and some basic mixers. Here’s what I use:
- 2 ripe kiwis peeled and sliced
- 8-10 fresh mint leaves
- 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz simple syrup
- 3 oz sparkling wine Prosecco works well
- 1 oz club soda or sparkling water
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- First, toss the sliced kiwi and mint leaves in the bottom of your shaker or straight into the glass. Grab your muddler and press them together until the kiwi’s broken down and the mint smells super fragrant.
- Add the lime juice, simple syrup, and a handful of ice. If you’re using a shaker, shake everything for about 10 seconds, then strain it into a tall glass filled with ice.
- If you’re mixing in the glass, just give it a good stir. Next, slowly pour in the sparkling wine and club soda.
- Give it all a gentle stir with a bar spoon to keep those bubbles lively. For garnish, I usually add a mint sprig or a slice of kiwi—looks nice, smells nice.

Tasting Notes
When I sip the Kiwi Mint Spritz, the first thing I notice is how bright and refreshing it is. The kiwi gives a gentle sweetness that doesn’t overpower anything.
The mint adds a cool, clean flavor that balances out the fruitiness. The bubbles from the soda water make the whole thing feel light, almost playful.
Each sip brings a gentle fizz that works well with the crispness of the ingredients. Here’s a quick breakdown:
The drink smells super fresh, with a hint of lime. I find the kiwi aroma lingers a bit after each sip—kind of nice, actually.
In the aftertaste, the mint hangs around on my tongue, then there’s a gentle fruit note. I don’t notice any bitterness, which makes it easy to finish the whole glass without thinking twice.
If you want to serve it up right, go for a chilled glass. The green from the kiwi and mint looks bright and inviting—honestly, it’s a good-looking drink.
Substitute
Sometimes I need to swap ingredients in the Kiwi Mint Spritz. Honestly, I find this super helpful if I don’t have everything on hand or just want to shake up the flavor a bit.
Instead of fresh kiwi, I’ll use kiwi juice, frozen kiwi, or even green grapes. Green grapes taste sweet, but they won’t give you that same bright color—just a heads up.
For mint, I sometimes grab basil or cilantro leaves. Those bring a different vibe, but still add a fresh aroma that works.
If I’m skipping alcohol, I just leave out the prosecco and pour in extra sparkling water. For a sweeter drink, I might add more fruit juice or syrup.
If I want it less sweet, I’ll go easy on the syrup or skip it altogether.
