Equipment

  • Champagne flutes or wine glasses
  • A cocktail shaker
  • A jigger or measuring tool
  • A small knife
  • A cutting board
  • A citrus juicer (optional)

Ingredients

For each cocktail, you'll need:

  • 1 oz elderflower liqueur like St. Germain
  • 1 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 3 oz chilled Prosecco
  • Grapefruit slice for garnish
  • Ice cubes

The elderflower liqueur adds a sweet, floral taste. Fresh grapefruit juice gives a tangy kick. Prosecco brings the bubbles and a light, crisp flavor.

Instructions

  • Fill the cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add elderflower liqueur and grapefruit juice to the shaker.
  • Shake well for about 10 seconds.
  • Strain the mixture into a champagne flute.
  • Top with chilled Prosecco.
  • Gently stir to mix.
  • Garnish with a grapefruit slice.
  • Serve right away to enjoy the drink at its fizziest.

The cocktail looks pretty and tastes great.

    Notes

This recipe is easy to adjust. For a stronger drink, add more elderflower liqueur. For less alcohol, use more grapefruit juice. You can swap Prosecco for Champagne or another sparkling wine.
If you can't find elderflower liqueur, try elderflower syrup instead. Just use less syrup, as it's sweeter than the liqueur. You can also use lime juice instead of grapefruit for a different taste.
Make sure all ingredients are cold before mixing. This keeps the drink fizzy longer. You can make the elderflower-grapefruit mix ahead of time and add Prosecco just before serving.
