Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Strainer
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Cocktail glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Ice

Ingredients

For one cocktail:

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz cherry blossom syrup
  • 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 2-3 drops rose water optional
  • Ice
  • Cherry blossom or cherry for garnish

Cherry blossom syrup can be bought or made at home by steeping dried cherry blossoms in simple syrup. If you can't find it, try using regular cherry syrup with a dash of floral liqueur like St-Germain.

Instructions

  • Fill the cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add vodka, cherry blossom syrup, and lemon juice to the shaker.
  • If using, add a few drops of rose water.
  • Shake well for 10-15 seconds until chilled.
  • Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  • Garnish with a cherry blossom or cherry.

For best results, chill your cocktail glass in the freezer for a few minutes before making the drink. This keeps the cocktail cold longer.

    Notes

This recipe can be easily scaled up to make a batch for parties. Just keep the ratios the same.
For a non-alcoholic version, replace vodka with soda water or white grape juice.
The drink pairs well with light appetizers like sushi or fruit desserts. It's best served right away while cold and fresh.
You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less syrup to suit your taste.
