Chamomile Gin Fizz Cocktail Recipe

Chamomile Gin Fizz Cocktail Recipe
I make the Chamomile Gin Fizz by infusing calming chamomile tea into a classic gin fizz. The drink features a mix of chamomile tea, gin, citrus, and soda for a floral and refreshing flavor.

Equipment

  • I use a cocktail shaker for mixing and chilling the drink.
  • A fine mesh strainer helps me remove any small pieces of chamomile or ice.
  • I also need a jigger for measuring the liquids.
  • A bar spoon is useful for quickly stirring in the soda water at the end.
  • For serving, I pour the finished cocktail into a tall glass.
  • If I want to add a garnish, I keep a small knife handy for cutting lemon wedges or chamomile flowers.

Ingredients

I use the following ingredients for one Chamomile Gin Fizz:

  • 2 ounces gin
  • 1/2 ounce chamomile tea cooled and strong
  • 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 ounce simple syrup
  • 1 egg white optional for foam
  • 2 to 3 ounces club soda
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • I first brew chamomile tea and let it cool.
  • While it cools, I prepare my shaker.
  • I pour gin, cooled chamomile tea, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and the egg white (if using) into the shaker.
  • I shake all the ingredients without ice for about ten seconds to mix the egg white.
  • Next, I add ice cubes and shake again for another ten to fifteen seconds until the mixture feels cold.
  • This double shaking method helps create a good froth.
  • I strain the mixture into a tall glass filled with ice.
  • Then, I top it with club soda and gently stir with a bar spoon.
  • For garnish, I sometimes use a twist of lemon zest or a few dried chamomile flowers.

Notes

If I do not want to use egg white due to allergies or preference, I simply leave it out.
The drink will be less frothy but still tastes fresh and floral.
If I want the cocktail sweeter, I add extra simple syrup a little at a time.
I always make sure the chamomile tea is fully cooled before adding it; warm tea can melt the ice and weaken the flavors.
If I cannot find fresh chamomile flowers, dried ones work well for garnish.
For the best fizz, I pour the club soda slowly and stir only once or twice, which keeps the bubbles from disappearing too fast.
When I make batches for a group, I multiply the recipe by the number of servings needed.
