Blueberry Mint Sparkler Mocktail Recipe
I use fresh blueberries and mint for a cool, crisp flavor. The process is super simple, and you probably have most of what you need already.

Equipment

  • Muddler: I use this to press and release the juice and flavors from the blueberries and mint.
  • Cocktail shaker or jar with lid: This helps to mix everything well.
  • Fine mesh strainer: I strain the mixture to remove the solids for a smoother drink.
  • Measuring spoons and cups: These make sure I get the correct amounts of each ingredient.
  • Tall glass: I choose a clear glass to show off the colors of the mocktail.
  • Long spoon or stirring stick: For mixing in the sparkling water.
  • Ice tray or ice cubes: I keep everything cold and refreshing using plenty of ice.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries: Washed and picked over for stems.
  • 6 –8 fresh mint leaves: I prefer using more mint for a stronger flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon honey or simple syrup: Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice: This gives a sharp tangy kick.
  • 1/2 cup cold sparkling water: I use more or less depending on how bubbly I want it.
  • Ice cubes: For serving and keeping the drink chilled.
  • Optional: Extra berries and mint sprigs for garnish.

Instructions

  • I add the blueberries and mint leaves to the bottom of my shaker or jar.
  • Using the muddler, I gently press and twist to release their juices and aromas.
  • I pour in the honey or simple syrup and lime juice, then mix everything together.
  • Ice cubes go into the shaker next.
  • I close the shaker and shake well for about 10 seconds to blend and chill the ingredients.
  • Straining the mixture into my tall glass, I filter out the solids for a smooth pour.
  • I top off with sparkling water, stirring gently so the bubbles do not fade.
  • I add extra mint leaves or blueberries as garnish, if I like.

Notes

Fresh blueberries give the best color and flavor, but thawed frozen berries can also work if needed.
Adjust the amount of honey or syrup according to how sweet I want my drink.
If the mint is strong, I use fewer leaves; if mild, I use more.
For a stronger lime flavor, I add an extra splash of juice.
This recipe can easily be multiplied for a group—just muddle a larger batch and mix in a pitcher.
I serve immediately for the best fizz and flavor.
