Looking for a drink that’s both refreshing and easy to share? My Blueberry Mint Sparkler Mocktail is a simple, tasty option for just about any gathering.
It’s made with fresh blueberries, mint, and sparkling water—so you get plenty of flavor, but zero alcohol.
I like serving this mocktail at family get-togethers or summer parties. The fresh ingredients give it a clean, crisp taste.
If you want a cool drink that’s easy to throw together, this recipe’s worth a try.
Equipment
- Muddler: I use this to press and release the juice and flavors from the blueberries and mint.
- Cocktail shaker or jar with lid: This helps to mix everything well.
- Fine mesh strainer: I strain the mixture to remove the solids for a smoother drink.
- Measuring spoons and cups: These make sure I get the correct amounts of each ingredient.
- Tall glass: I choose a clear glass to show off the colors of the mocktail.
- Long spoon or stirring stick: For mixing in the sparkling water.
- Ice tray or ice cubes: I keep everything cold and refreshing using plenty of ice.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup fresh blueberries: Washed and picked over for stems.
- 6 –8 fresh mint leaves: I prefer using more mint for a stronger flavor.
- 1 tablespoon honey or simple syrup: Adjust sweetness to taste.
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice: This gives a sharp tangy kick.
- 1/2 cup cold sparkling water: I use more or less depending on how bubbly I want it.
- Ice cubes: For serving and keeping the drink chilled.
- Optional: Extra berries and mint sprigs for garnish.
Instructions
- I add the blueberries and mint leaves to the bottom of my shaker or jar.
- Using the muddler, I gently press and twist to release their juices and aromas.
- I pour in the honey or simple syrup and lime juice, then mix everything together.
- Ice cubes go into the shaker next.
- I close the shaker and shake well for about 10 seconds to blend and chill the ingredients.
- Straining the mixture into my tall glass, I filter out the solids for a smooth pour.
- I top off with sparkling water, stirring gently so the bubbles do not fade.
- I add extra mint leaves or blueberries as garnish, if I like.
Notes
Adjust the amount of honey or syrup according to how sweet I want my drink.
If the mint is strong, I use fewer leaves; if mild, I use more.
For a stronger lime flavor, I add an extra splash of juice.
This recipe can easily be multiplied for a group—just muddle a larger batch and mix in a pitcher.
I serve immediately for the best fizz and flavor.

Tasting Notes
When I take my first sip of the Blueberry Mint Sparkler Mocktail, I notice the balance between sweet and tart flavors. The blueberries offer a juicy, fresh taste, and the natural tang stands out.
The mint adds a cooling, crisp note. As I let the drink linger, I get a gentle herbal aroma from the mint leaves.
The sparkling water brings a light, fizzy texture. It lifts the fruit flavor and keeps the drink feeling refreshing, not heavy.
What I Taste Most:
- Sweetness from muddled blueberries
- Bright zip from fresh mint
- Bubbling sensation from sparkling water
I find that the mint and blueberries blend well together without one overpowering the other. The aftertaste is clean and a little sweet.
Every sip is refreshing and leaves me wanting another taste, especially on warm days.
Substitute
Sometimes I just want to mix things up in my Blueberry Mint Sparkler Mocktail. Honestly, there are plenty of easy swaps that work if I’m missing something.
- Blueberries: If I don’t have any, I’ll grab strawberries, blackberries, or raspberries. Whatever’s in the fridge, really.
- Mint: No mint? I’ll go for fresh basil, or toss in a little rosemary for a twist. It’s not the same, but it’s fun to experiment.
- Sparkling water: Sometimes I use club soda, tonic water, or even lemon-lime soda if that’s all I’ve got. Not picky here.
- Sweetener:Â I like to swap out simple syrup for honey or agave. Depends on my mood.
When I swap ingredients, I usually stick with the same amount as in the recipe. It keeps things simple.
If I can’t find my muddler (which happens more than I’d like), I just use the back of a spoon to crush the berries and herbs. Works fine.
Equipment:
- Muddler or just a spoon
- Glass
- Straw (totally optional)
Ingredients:
- Fruit—blueberries or whatever you’re using
- Fresh mint or basil
- Sparkling water or another bubbly drink
- Sweetener: syrup, honey, or agave
- Ice (if you want)
Instructions:
- Put the fruit and herbs in your glass.
- Muddle them up, but don’t go overboard.
- Add your sweetener and maybe some ice.
- Pour in the sparkling water.
- Stir it all together and that’s it. Enjoy.
