Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz orange juice or pomegranate juice
  • 1 oz cranberry juice or apple cider
  • 4 oz ginger beer
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 1 star anise pod
  • Fresh cranberries for garnish
  • Orange slice or lime wedge for garnish
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • Simmer cloves, star anise, and cinnamon stick in a splash of orange juice for 5 minutes.
  • Strain the spiced juice and let it cool slightly.
  • Fill cocktail shaker with ice, add vodka, lime juice, cranberry or cider, and the spiced juice.
  • Shake for 10–15 seconds until chilled.
  • Strain into a copper mug packed with ice.
  • Top with ginger beer and stir gently.
  • Garnish with cranberries and citrus slice.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice for brightness. Adjust spice level by steeping longer or skipping cinnamon. Prepare spiced juice ahead for parties.
