Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh watermelon chunks
  • 6 oz vodka
  • 2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz simple syrup
  • Club soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Mint leaves for garnish
  • Watermelon wedges for garnish

Instructions

  • Cut watermelon into 1-inch chunks.
  • Add watermelon to blender and blend until smooth.
  • Strain watermelon puree through fine-mesh strainer to remove pulp.
  • Fill cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Pour 1.5 oz vodka, 0.5 oz lime juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, and 2 oz watermelon puree into shaker.
  • Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
  • Strain into ice-filled glasses.
  • Top with a splash of club soda.
  • Garnish with mint leaves and watermelon wedges.

Notes

Store extra watermelon puree in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
For a mocktail version, replace vodka with extra club soda.
Freeze watermelon chunks ahead of time to create a slushier texture.
Use fresh watermelon for best results - bottled juice won't taste the same.
Make simple syrup by heating equal parts sugar and water until dissolved, then cooling.
