Equipment

  • Blender
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Ice cube tray
  • Cocktail glasses
  • Knife and cutting board

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cubed seedless watermelon
  • 4 oz vodka
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 8-10 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Watermelon wedges and mint sprigs for garnish

Choose a ripe, sweet watermelon for best flavor. Use a quality vodka that won't overpower the fruit taste. Fresh lime juice adds brightness. Simple syrup balances the drink's sweetness.

Instructions

  • Puree watermelon in a blender until smooth.
  • Strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove pulp.
  • In a cocktail shaker, muddle mint leaves with simple syrup.
  • Add watermelon juice, vodka, lime juice, and ice to the shaker.
  • Shake well for 10-15 seconds.
  • Strain into ice-filled glasses.
  • Garnish with watermelon wedges and mint sprigs.
  • Serve immediately while cold and fresh.

This recipe makes two servings. Double or triple as needed for larger groups.

    Notes

For a stronger mint flavor, add more leaves when muddling.
Replace simple syrup with honey for a different sweetness.
Make it non-alcoholic by skipping the vodka and adding soda water.
Prepare watermelon juice ahead of time and chill for faster serving.
Freeze cubed watermelon to use instead of ice for a more intense flavor.
Always drink responsibly and enjoy in moderation. This cocktail is best served fresh, but you can store leftover watermelon juice in the fridge for up to 2 days.
