Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz coffee liqueur like Kahlúa
  • 1 oz heavy cream or tequila cream/Irish cream
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • ice cubes enough to fill shaker halfway
  • cocoa powder for garnish, optional

Instructions

  • Add tequila, coffee liqueur, heavy cream, simple syrup, and vanilla extract to a cocktail shaker.
  • Fill shaker halfway with ice cubes.
  • Shake vigorously for about 20 seconds until well chilled.
  • Strain into a coupe or cocktail glass.
  • Garnish with cocoa powder if desired.

Notes

Chill glasses in the freezer for a colder drink. Swap heavy cream for Irish cream for a richer flavor or tequila cream for a lighter texture. Garnish with nutmeg or cinnamon instead of cocoa powder for variation. Use good tequila and pure vanilla extract for the best taste.
