Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Strainer
  • Martini glass
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Ice

Ingredients

For one Vanilla Pear Martini, you'll need:

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz pear nectar or juice
  • 1/2 oz vanilla syrup
  • 1/4 oz fresh lemon juice
  • Ice
  • Pear slice for garnish optional

Use good quality vodka for the best taste. You can find pear nectar in many grocery stores. To make vanilla syrup at home, mix equal parts sugar and water, then add a vanilla bean or extract.

Instructions

  • Fill the cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add vodka, pear nectar, vanilla syrup, and lemon juice to the shaker.
  • Shake well for 10-15 seconds.
  • Strain the mixture into the chilled martini glass.
  • If desired, garnish with a thin pear slice on the rim of the glass.

Shake the drink well to make sure all ingredients mix and get cold. The pear slice adds a nice touch but you can skip it if you prefer.

    Notes

This recipe makes one drink. You can easily double or triple it for more servings. If the drink is too sweet, add a bit more lemon juice. For a stronger vanilla flavor, use more vanilla syrup.
Try different types of pears for the garnish to change up the look. Asian pears work well because they're firm and easy to slice thin. You can also rim the glass with sugar for extra sweetness.
Store any leftover vanilla syrup in the fridge for up to two weeks. It's great in coffee or other cocktails too.
