  • Fine mesh sieve or tea strainer
  • Tall glass or rocks glass
  • Spoon: For stirring.
  • Ice cubes
  • Grater (for nutmeg or cinnamon, optional)

Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila reposado preferred
  • 1 oz vanilla vodka
  • 2 oz strong chai tea brewed, cooled
  • 1 oz coffee liqueur
  • 1 oz cream half and half or milk
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey choose your favorite
  • 0.25 tsp ground cinnamon
  • pinch ground ginger
  • pinch nutmeg freshly grated if possible
  • pinch cardamom
  • pinch ground cloves
  • ice cubes
  • caramel sauce for rimming glass, optional
  • cinnamon stick or star anise for garnish, optional

Instructions

  • Brew the chai tea strong, then let it cool.
  • Drizzle caramel sauce on the glass rim if desired.
  • Fill shaker with ice and add tequila, vanilla vodka, coffee liqueur, chai tea, and cream.
  • Add maple syrup or honey, and all ground spices: cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cardamom, cloves.
  • Shake hard for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
  • Strain into a glass filled with ice.
  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick, star anise, or a sprinkle of nutmeg if desired.

Notes

Swap cream for milk or non-dairy for a lighter option. Adjust honey or maple for your preferred sweetness. If the drink is too strong, add more chai tea. Fresh grated spices boost flavor. Chill the tea and all ingredients for a crisper finish.
