Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 chai tea bags
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 cup coconut milk or almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla syrup
  • 1 tablespoon chai spice or mix of cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and cloves
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or sweetener of choice, optional
  • ice cubes
  • ground cinnamon or nutmeg for garnish, optional

Instructions

  • Heat water in a saucepan until almost boiling. Pour over tea bags and cinnamon stick in a pitcher; steep 5 minutes.
  • Remove tea bags and cinnamon stick. Stir in chai spice until dissolved.
  • Add coconut or almond milk and vanilla syrup. Whisk until smooth.
  • Let cool to room temperature.
  • Fill glasses with ice. Pour cooled chai mixture over ice.
  • Garnish with ground cinnamon or nutmeg if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Coconut milk creates a creamy texture; almond milk is a lighter alternative. Adjust sweetness with maple syrup or more vanilla syrup if desired. Whisk before serving to keep flavors blended.
