  • Long-handled spoon for stirring
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Sharp knife for cutting fruit
  • Cutting Board
  • Ice bucket
  • Glasses for serving

Ingredients

Here's what goes in tropical rum punch:

  • 2 cups white rum
  • 2 cups pineapple juice
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup grenadine syrup
  • 2 cups club soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Sliced oranges pineapple, and maraschino cherries for garnish

Use fresh juices if possible for the best flavor. You can swap dark rum for white rum if you prefer.

Instructions

Follow these steps to make tropical rum punch:

  • In a large pitcher, mix rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, and lime juice.
  • Add grenadine and stir well.
  • Chill the mixture in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
  • Just before serving, add club soda and stir gently.
  • Fill glasses with ice cubes.
  • Pour the punch over ice.
  • Garnish with fruit slices and cherries.

Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more grenadine if needed.

    Notes

This recipe makes about 8 servings. You can easily double or triple it for larger groups.
To make it stronger, add more rum. For a weaker version, use less rum and more juice.
Try adding coconut rum for extra tropical flavor. You can also float dark rum on top of each glass for a layered look.
Make a non-alcoholic version by leaving out the rum and using more fruit juice or lemon-lime soda instead.
Prepare the juice mixture ahead of time, but wait to add the club soda until just before serving to keep it fizzy.
