  • Hurricane glass or tall glass
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Ice
  • Bar spoon
  • Citrus juicer

Ingredients

  • 2 oz light rum
  • 2 oz dark rum
  • 2 oz passion fruit syrup
  • 1 oz fresh orange juice
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz grenadine
  • Orange slice and cherry for garnish
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • Add light rum, dark rum, passion fruit syrup, orange juice, lime juice, and grenadine to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  • Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until well chilled.
  • Strain the mixture into a hurricane glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry. Add a straw before serving.

Notes

Store unused passion fruit syrup in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Fresh-squeezed juices make a big difference in taste compared to bottled versions.
The drink can be made less strong by reducing the rum to 1.5 oz each of light and dark.
For a sweeter drink, add an extra 1/2 oz of passion fruit syrup.
This recipe makes one serving. Double or triple the ingredients to make multiple drinks at once.
