Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker with strainer
  • Martini glass or coupe glass
  • Small plate for graham cracker crumbs
  • Measuring jigger or shot glass
  • Spoon or stir stick
  • Kitchen torch or lighter
  • Small bowl for melted chocolate or syrup
  • Tongs for handling toasted marshmallows

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz marshmallow vodka or vanilla vodka
  • 1 oz chocolate liqueur or Irish cream liqueur
  • 0.5 oz half-and-half or heavy cream
  • 0.5 oz chocolate syrup or chocolate sauce
  • 1 tbsp graham cracker crumbs for glass rim
  • 1 tsp marshmallow fluff optional, for garnish
  • 1 jumbo marshmallow toasted
  • crushed graham crackers for decoration

Instructions

  • Chill a martini or coupe glass in the fridge or freezer so the drink stays extra cold and creamy.
  • Pour a little chocolate syrup onto a small plate, dip the rim of the chilled glass into the syrup, then press it into graham cracker crumbs to create a graham cracker rim.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add the marshmallow or vanilla vodka, chocolate liqueur or Irish cream, and half-and-half or heavy cream to the shaker.
  • Pour in the chocolate syrup or chocolate sauce.
  • Shake well for about 15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker feels cold and the mixture is smooth and frothy.
  • Strain the cocktail into the prepared, graham-cracker-rimmed martini glass.
  • Toast a jumbo marshmallow with a kitchen torch or lighter until golden and lightly charred, then carefully place it on top of the drink using tongs.
  • If desired, drizzle a little extra chocolate sauce over the top or add a small spoonful of marshmallow fluff and a sprinkle of crushed graham crackers.

Notes

Use a good-quality chocolate liqueur, like Godiva, for a smooth, rich base. Swapping marshmallow vodka for vanilla vodka gives a slightly more subtle, creamy flavor.
Chilling the glass before pouring helps the martini stay thick and silky instead of thinning out too quickly.
For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream, or reduce the amount of chocolate syrup if you prefer it less sweet.
The toasted marshmallow, graham cracker rim, and chocolate drizzle bring classic s'mores flavors into a grown-up, dessert-like cocktail.
