Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Bar spoon
  • Strainer
  • Highball or hurricane glass
  • Ice cubes

Ingredients

  • 2 oz white rum
  • 1 oz coconut rum
  • 1 oz blue curaçao
  • 2 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 oz lime juice freshly squeezed
  • Ice cubes for shaking and serving
  • Pineapple slice or maraschino cherry for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill your cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes.
  • Add the white rum, coconut rum, blue curaçao, pineapple juice, and lime juice to the shaker.
  • Shake for about 10–15 seconds, until the shaker feels well chilled on the outside.
  • Fill a highball or hurricane glass with fresh ice cubes.
  • Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over the ice.
  • Garnish with a pineapple slice or maraschino cherry and serve immediately.

Notes

Chilling your ingredients first helps the drink stay frosty without needing too much extra ice, which can dilute the flavor.
If the cocktail tastes a little too sweet, add a small squeeze of extra lime juice to brighten it up. For a sweeter, softer drink, you can use a bit more coconut rum.
The vivid blue-green color comes from the mix of blue curaçao and pineapple juice—serve it in a clear glass so you can really show it off.
