bourbon

fresh lemon juice

simple syrup

dry champagne or sparkling wine, chilled

lemon peel

Instructions
Add bourbon, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker.
Add ice and shake for 10–15 seconds until well-chilled.
Strain into a chilled flute or coupe.
Top slowly with dry champagne or sparkling wine.
Garnish with a lemon twist (or a maraschino cherry) and serve.
Notes
Use a smooth, mid-proof bourbon and Brut sparkling wine for balance. Adjust syrup to taste. Always add bubbles last to preserve effervescence.
