Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila blanco or reposado
  • 1 oz cranberry juice unsweetened or sweetened
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz orange liqueur triple sec or Cointreau
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup or agave syrup
  • ice cubes enough to fill shaker and glass
  • sugar for rimming, optional
  • lime wedge for rimming and garnish
  • fresh cranberries optional garnish
  • rosemary sprig optional garnish

Instructions

  • Rub the rim of the glass with a lime wedge, then dip it in sugar for a sweet edge.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add tequila, cranberry juice, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, and simple syrup (or agave) to the shaker.
  • Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
  • Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge, cranberries, or rosemary sprig if desired.

Notes

Blanco tequila keeps things light, while reposado adds depth. Fresh lime juice is recommended for brightness. Adjust sweetness to taste, and garnish for a festive look.
