Equipment

  • Wine glass or highball glass
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler or wooden spoon
  • Measuring jigger
  • Strainer
  • Bar spoon
  • Citrus juicer
  • Ice cubes

Ingredients

  • 2 oz fresh tangerine juice
  • 1 oz vodka or gin, optional
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup or honey/agave syrup
  • 3 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 oz chilled prosecco or sparkling wine
  • 1 oz soda water or club soda
  • 0.25 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 oz aperol optional
  • ice cubes for glass and shaker
  • tangerine slice for garnish
  • fresh basil leaf for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill your wine glass or highball glass with ice to chill.
  • Lightly muddle basil leaves with simple syrup in a shaker.
  • Add tangerine juice, lemon juice, and vodka or gin (if using).
  • Shake with ice for about 10–15 seconds.
  • Strain into the chilled glass over fresh ice.
  • Top with prosecco and a splash of soda water.
  • If using aperol, pour it gently so it floats a bit.
  • Gently stir once with a bar spoon.
  • Garnish with a tangerine slice and fresh basil leaf.

Notes

Use fresh juice for best flavor. Adjust sweetness by using honey or agave. Aperol adds gentle bitterness. For a lighter drink, skip the vodka or gin and just use sparkling wine.
