Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler
  • Strainer
  • Tall glass
  • Measuring jigger
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting Board

Ingredients

  • 2 oz premium vodka
  • 3 fresh strawberries plus 1 for garnish
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Club soda or sparkling water
  • Fresh mint sprig optional

Instructions

  • Wash and hull the strawberries. Cut them into quarters.
  • Add the cut strawberries to the cocktail shaker and muddle until they release their juices.
  • Pour in the vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake for 15-20 seconds.
  • Fill a tall glass with fresh ice.
  • Strain the mixture into the glass.
  • Top with club soda or sparkling water.
  • Garnish with a fresh strawberry and mint sprig.

Notes

The drink tastes best with ripe, in-season strawberries. Store-bought strawberries work too, but they might need extra muddling.
Fresh lemon juice makes a big difference in taste compared to bottled juice.
The simple syrup can be adjusted based on the sweetness of the strawberries.
This recipe makes one serving. Double or triple the ingredients to make multiple drinks.
