Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mixing glass
  • Muddler
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Measuring jigger
  • Bar spoon
  • Highball or collins glass
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Ice cubes or crushed ice

Ingredients

  • 2 oz silver tequila
  • 3-4 fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup or agave nectar, to taste
  • 2-3 mint leaves optional
  • sparkling water or club soda to top
  • ice for shaking and serving
  • lemon juice splash, optional
  • mint sprig or strawberry slice for garnish

Instructions

  • Add sliced strawberries and optional mint leaves to a shaker; muddle gently to release juices and aroma.
  • Add silver tequila, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup (or agave). Fill the shaker halfway with ice.
  • Shake for about 10 seconds until well chilled.
  • Strain into a highball or Collins glass packed with fresh ice.
  • Top with sparkling water or club soda and stir briefly. Garnish with a mint sprig or strawberry slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use silver (blanco) tequila for a bright, clean profile. Adjust sweetness to taste; you can skip the syrup entirely if the strawberries are very ripe. Sparkling water yields a cleaner finish; club soda adds a slightly briny snap. Pour gently to preserve carbonation and enjoy while icy-cold.
