Ingredients

  • 2 oz silver tequila
  • 3 fresh strawberries quartered
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • Fresh mint leaves 4-5 leaves
  • Club soda for topping
  • Ice cubes
  • Strawberry slice and mint sprig for garnish

Instructions

  • Place strawberries and mint leaves in the cocktail shaker.
  • Muddle gently until strawberries release their juice and mint becomes fragrant.
  • Add tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.
  • Fill a rocks glass with fresh ice.
  • Double strain the mixture into the glass to remove berry seeds and mint pieces.
  • Top with a splash of club soda.
  • Garnish with a fresh strawberry slice and mint sprig.

Notes

The drink tastes best with ripe, in-season strawberries.
If you use frozen strawberries, let them thaw completely before muddling.
Store-bought simple syrup works well.
You can also make it at home by mixing equal parts sugar and hot water until dissolved.
Choose a quality silver tequila for a cleaner taste that pairs well with fruit.
