This fun, tropical cocktail blends light and dark rums, banana and blackberry liqueurs, fresh strawberries, citrus, and pineapple for a bold, fruity drink with a punch of flavor. Shake it up or blend for a frozen version—perfect for summer!
Toss fresh strawberries and simple syrup in a blender. Blend until smooth.
Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in light rum, dark rum, banana liqueur, blackberry liqueur, pineapple juice, lime juice, grenadine, and the strawberry puree.
Shake until very cold.
Strain into a hurricane glass packed with ice.
Float a little dark rum on top if desired, using a bar spoon.
Garnish with banana slices, fresh strawberries, or other berries.
Notes
Adjust sweetness by playing with grenadine or simple syrup. For a frozen version, blend all ingredients with ice. Add extra pineapple juice if the drink is too strong. The fresh strawberry puree sets this apart from classic rum runners.
