Equipment

  • Copper mug
  • Muddler
  • Cocktail spoon
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Strainer (optional)
  • Ice scoop

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 4 fresh strawberries hulled and sliced (or thawed frozen)
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup or honey
  • 6 oz ginger beer or ginger ale
  • ice cubes
  • fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • lime wedge or lime wheel for garnish

Instructions

  • Toss strawberries into your copper mug and muddle until juicy.
  • Pour in vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup (or honey).
  • Add ice cubes to fill the mug.
  • Pour ginger beer on top, leaving a little space at the rim.
  • Stir gently with a cocktail spoon to keep the fizz.
  • Garnish with mint leaves and a lime wedge or wheel.
  • Serve right away while it's cold.

Notes

Ginger ale makes a lighter drink; honey adds extra sweetness. Frozen strawberries work if thawed first. For a mocktail, skip the vodka. Copper mugs keep it colder longer. Add extra mint for more aroma.
