  • Muddler

Ingredients

  • 4 fresh strawberries plus 1 for garnish
  • 6 mint leaves plus extra for garnish
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • Club soda
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • Wash and hull the strawberries. Cut 4 strawberries into quarters.
  • Place the cut strawberries and mint leaves in the cocktail shaker. Muddle gently until the strawberries release their juice.
  • Add vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
  • Fill a highball glass with fresh ice cubes.
  • Strain the mixture into the glass through a fine-mesh strainer.
  • Top with club soda and stir gently.
  • Garnish with a fresh strawberry and mint sprig.

Notes

The drink can be made non-alcoholic by replacing vodka with lemon-lime soda or additional club soda.
Fresh strawberries work best, but frozen can be used when fresh aren't available.
Store simple syrup in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
For a sweeter drink, add more simple syrup. For a tart version, increase the lime juice.
Make ahead by muddling fruit and herbs up to 2 hours before serving.
