Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler
  • Strainer
  • Jigger
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Glasses
  • Small plate
  • Spoon or stir stick

Ingredients

  • 2 oz silver tequila blanco works too
  • 1 oz triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup or agave nectar
  • 4 fresh strawberries or thawed frozen
  • 3 jalapeño slices add more or less to taste
  • ice enough to fill shaker and glass
  • lime wedge for garnish and rimming
  • salt, Tajín, or chili powder for rim, optional

Instructions

  • Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip it into salt, Tajín, or chili powder.
  • Toss strawberries and jalapeño slices into your cocktail shaker.
  • Muddle until juicy and aromatic.
  • Pour in tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and simple syrup or agave nectar.
  • Add ice, close shaker, and shake hard for about 15 seconds.
  • Strain into your prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge or extra jalapeño slice.

Notes

Muddle jalapeños gently for mild heat, or harder (with seeds) for extra spice. Frozen strawberries work if thawed. For a lighter drink, use agave instead of syrup. A salt or Tajín rim brings extra zing—serve cold for the freshest taste.
