Ingredients

  • 2 oz blanco tequila silver or gold tequila also work
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz triple sec or your favorite orange liqueur
  • 3-4 fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 0.5 tsp fresh grated ginger or a thin slice
  • 4-6 oz sparkling mineral water such as Topo Chico
  • ice cubes
  • mint leaves for garnish
  • lime wedge or slices for garnish
  • salt for rim, optional

Instructions

  • Run a lime wedge around your glass and dip it in salt if you want a salted rim.
  • In a cocktail shaker, muddle the strawberries and ginger until juicy.
  • Pour in the tequila, lime juice, triple sec, and add ice.
  • Shake gently for about 10 seconds to chill and mix.
  • Strain the mixture into your ice-filled glass.
  • Top with sparkling mineral water.
  • Stir lightly and garnish with mint and a lime wedge or slice.

Notes

Topo Chico is preferred for its punchy carbonation, but any sparkling mineral water works. Adjust strawberry and ginger amounts for your preferred sweetness and spice. Enjoy immediately after making for the best fizz.
