Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 3 fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 4-5 leaves fresh mint
  • 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup 1:1 sugar and water
  • ice cubes for shaking and serving
  • mint sprig for garnish
  • strawberry slice for garnish
  • soda water splash, optional to lighten

Instructions

  • Add sliced strawberries and mint leaves to a cocktail shaker. Muddle gently until juicy and fragrant.
  • Add bourbon, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice.
  • Shake for 10–15 seconds until very cold.
  • Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice (fine‑strain to remove seeds if preferred).
  • Optional: top with a splash of soda water. Garnish with a mint sprig and strawberry slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust sweetness by increasing or decreasing the simple syrup. Swap lime for lemon for a sharper edge. Crushed ice chills faster but dilutes more; use large cubes for slower melt.
