This refreshing drink combines sweet strawberries, aromatic basil, and crisp white wine for a perfect summer cocktail. The mix creates a light and fruity blend that serves 6-8 people.
Wash and slice the strawberries. Place them in the pitcher.
Gently tear the basil leaves and add them to the strawberries.
Pour the honey over the fruit and herbs. Then, stir with a wooden spoon.
Add both bottles of wine to the pitcher. Mix well.
Cover and refrigerate for 4-6 hours or overnight.
Before serving, add the club soda and lemon slices.
Fill wine glasses with ice and pour the sangria through a strainer.
Notes
Fresh strawberries work best for this recipe. Frozen ones can make the drink too watery. The sangria keeps well in the fridge for up to 2 days. For a stronger basil flavor, muddle the leaves before adding them to the pitcher.Replace honey with simple syrup if needed. Start with 3 tablespoons and adjust to taste.Club soda can be added per glass instead of the whole pitcher to keep the bubbles fresh.
