  • Wooden spoon

  • Ice bucket

Ingredients

  • 2 bottles dry white wine 750ml each
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 cup club soda
  • 1 lemon thinly sliced
  • Ice for serving

Instructions

  • Wash and slice the strawberries. Place them in the pitcher.
  • Gently tear the basil leaves and add them to the strawberries.
  • Pour the honey over the fruit and herbs. Then, stir with a wooden spoon.
  • Add both bottles of wine to the pitcher. Mix well.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 4-6 hours or overnight.
  • Before serving, add the club soda and lemon slices.
  • Fill wine glasses with ice and pour the sangria through a strainer.

Notes

Fresh strawberries work best for this recipe. Frozen ones can make the drink too watery.
The sangria keeps well in the fridge for up to 2 days.
For a stronger basil flavor, muddle the leaves before adding them to the pitcher.
Replace honey with simple syrup if needed. Start with 3 tablespoons and adjust to taste.
Club soda can be added per glass instead of the whole pitcher to keep the bubbles fresh.
