Ingredients

  • 2 fresh strawberries or frozen, thawed
  • 3 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 oz vodka or gin
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice or lime juice
  • ice cubes for shaking
  • basil leaf or strawberry slice for garnish

Instructions

  • Toss strawberries and basil leaves into the cocktail shaker.
  • Use the muddler to gently crush them until they’re juicy.
  • Add vodka, simple syrup, and lemon juice.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake it hard for about 15–20 seconds.
  • Double strain into a chilled martini glass to catch all the seeds and basil bits.
  • Top it off with a basil leaf or strawberry slice for garnish.

Notes

Use vodka for a clean base or gin for more herbal depth. If using frozen strawberries, thaw them first. Adjust simple syrup for sweetness. Serve in a chilled glass for best results.
