Equipment

  • Blender
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Measuring jigger
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Tall cocktail glass or coupe
  • Bar spoon
  • Small bowl (for optional sugared rim)
  • Ice cube tray

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 0.5 cup frozen strawberries
  • 2 oz vodka or rum
  • 1 oz simple syrup or 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 oz heavy cream
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 oz lemon juice
  • 3 oz soda water or sparkling water
  • ice cubes for shaking and serving
  • whipped cream for topping
  • fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • Add fresh and frozen strawberries to a blender. Pour in vodka (or rum), heavy cream, lemon juice, vanilla, and simple syrup.
  • Blend until very smooth and creamy.
  • Strain the puree through a fine mesh strainer into a cocktail shaker to remove seeds.
  • Add a handful of ice and shake for about 10 seconds to chill.
  • Fill a chilled glass halfway with ice and pour in the cocktail.
  • Top with soda or sparkling water. Finish with whipped cream and garnish with a mint leaf and strawberry slice.

Notes

For a sweeter sip, add a bit more syrup; for lighter texture, swap half‑and‑half or milk for the cream. Optional: sugar the rim for sparkle. Use very cold ingredients for the best texture and fizz.
